Home from Surgery

Snorri came home yesterday after spending the night at VHUP; he seems to have settled into the routine quite well. Although he did well without one last time, he has an e-collar this time around since he ended up with some extra stitches on his belly (he had a small lump removed while he was under) and there was some concern he might worry them. I've removed his collar for the time being since I'm home to keep an eye on him today; so far, so good.

He's actually quite alert today and looks content resting in his crate -- he is eating and drinking very well. He goes back in on Monday for a cast change and will be on antibiotics for some time.

Oh, this looks like the collar Maggie (Golden Retriever) needed when she was spayed / had her dewclaws removed.

She managed to rip out the stitches in her paws numerous times, and created a fluid buildup thanks to licking at the spay site - her tummy remained hairless.

Oh and of course we had an e-collar. We'd still come home to find a trail of blood through the house - that darn dog managed to get around every one, until the vet said 'sorry, there is no larger size!!'.
